This New Orleans cemetery is considered to be the oldest and most well-known in the city. It first opened in 1789 and replaced the St. Peter Cemetery. It is quite close to the French Quarter. Voodoo priestess Marie Laveau is thought to be in the Glapion family crypt. This cemetery is on the National Register of Historic Places.
